Spring is Blooming with Family Fun in Northern Virginia!
Springtime in Northern Virginia is a vibrant season filled with colorful blooms, festive events, and family-friendly activities. From traditional Easter egg hunts to spring festivals, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Below is a curated list of upcoming events in Arlington and the surrounding areas, complete with dates, locations, pricing details and links for more information.
Arlington Bunny Hop 5K
We'll be sponsoring the Arlington Bunny Hop 5K this year! The Bunny Hop is a fun, family oriented, charity 5K race and fun run/walk that raises money for local charities. There will be finish line medals for all registered participants and also age group place medals and a block party afterwards with activities geared toward kids of all ages, including a bounce house. Costumes are encouraged & medals will be awarded to 3 finishers with the best costumes. This year's Bunny Hop will benefit Bridges to Independence & funds from the race will be allocated to Bridges' Youth Support Programs at their family shelter near Clarendon.
Spring Egg Hunt at Potomac Overlook Regional Park
Embark on a self-guided egg hunt through the park. Pick up your egg hunt sheet at the nature center, search for wooden eggs, and return with your completed sheet for a prize. Open daily from April 12-20 from 10:30AM-4PM. Admission is $8 per participating child and can be purchased at the nature center, no advance registration needed.

Cherry Hill Park Egg Hunt
More than 2,000 children and parents attend this annual event in historic Cherry Hill Park! Children ages 1-11 can hunt for eggs, take pictures with Mr. & Mrs. Bunny, play games, do crafts & more. Activities begin at 9:15 on Saturday, April 19th and the egg hunt begins promptly at 10am. There is a magic show with Drew Blue Shoes at the barn at 10:30am. This event is free and does not require registration (they do request you to bring your own basket).
Hoppy Egg Hunting
Hop into spring with a delightful morning at the Hoppy Egg Hunting event on Saturday, April 19th! Kids will enjoy an exciting egg hunt tailored by age group, games, arts and crafts, and music starting at 9:30 am & a special photo opportunity with the Bunny—don’t forget your camera! Bring a basket for egg collection and wear your best egg-hunting shoes! This event will be held rain or shine and advance registration is strongly recommended to secure your spot.
The Egg Hunt has timed windows based on age ranges:
Ages 5-7: 9:45am
Ages 3-4: 10:30am
Walking- Age 2: 11:15am
Festival of Spring at Burnside Farms
Experience a slice of Holland in Virginia with over two million tulips and daffodils. Enjoy pick-your-own flowers and picturesque photo opportunities. Burnside Farms plants over 150 varieties of tulips and more than 30 varieties of daffodils for one of spring's most spectacular pick-your-own events! Admission includes five flower stems & you can pick more to purchase as well. Tulips are $1 per stem, and daffodils 2 for $1. Open daily from 8am to dusk, April 4-21st. Pre-purchased tickets are required and are $19-25 each (children 5 & under are free)
Great Country Farms’ Egg Hunt and Marshmallow Harvest
Make a day trip to Great Country Farms' Egg Hunt & Marshmallow Harvest. Visit the farm & see the spring chicks, baby animals, wagon rides & more. Their annual Egg Hunts are $8 in addition to farm admission. Egg hunters get a bucket to gather 25 treat-filled eggs (filled with small toys, treats & prize slips). Eggs and buckets are returned at the farm. On April 12, 13 & 19th, they also have a Bunny Brunch at The Henway Cider Barn with the Easter Bunny himself available for photo ops. and stay to get your own 25 treat-filled eggs in a bucket. Marshmallow Roasting is also available from 10 AM-3 PM next to the egg hunt area and is included with your farm admission.
Bunny Train Ride Walkersville Southern Railroad
Choo-choo! Enjoy a train ride along with a visit from the Easter Bunny himself. Have your camera ready for some great shots as Mr. Bunny will visit with each family during the ride, and give each child an Easter surprise! If you have a train enthusiast, hop on this opportunity fast! The train rides are 1 hour and 10 minutes. Admission is required and tickets range from $23-25 (children under 2 are free).
Bunnyland at Butler’s Orchard
Bunnyland features an egg Hunt (eggs are NOT filled and are returned), Giant Slides, 2 Hilltop Hop Jump Pads, Farm Animals, Pedal Tractors, Playgrounds, Hay Rides, and Photo Ops (11 AM-3 PM). Options for also face painting and pony rides for additional fees.
